Phumelela achieves Level 2 empowerment status

Phumelela is proud to announce that following an independent B-BBEE audit by Empowerdex (a highly reputable empowerment verification company in South Africa) it has maintained its Level 2 Contributor status which was first achieved in October of 2013, 14 months ahead of the Gambling Board’s target date of 2015.
The Level 2 Contributor status, was achieved with increased points of 92/100 compared to the 85/100 achieved in 2013.
The company reached a high level of points within the various categories of the scorecard namely, Ownership, Management and Control, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Preferential Procurement, Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development. The greatest area of improvement was in Preferential Procurement where scoring is almost 100%.
Phumelela Gaming employs approximately 2,000 people countrywide of whom 87% are black and 73% are female.
